SONY Launches Wearable Air Conditioner

Adjust To Climate Change

Global temperatures have changed in the past 100 years due to climate change. Since the late 19th centure, the planet's average temperature has risen about 0.9 degree celsius made worse by increased carbon dioxide and human-made emissions into the atmosphere. As a result, humans tend to seek technological innovations to combat the effects of global warming.

Reon Pocket

Ever heard of 'wearable air conditioner'? Sony calls its tiny air conditioner the Reon Pocket, and can be worn just below a person's nape in the pocket (with hole) of a specialized undershirt. Once you wear the device, you can control it using your smartphone application.

Cool in Summer, Warm in Winter

The Reon Pocket can minimize your body's surface temperature by 23 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees celsius) if you want to use it in summer. It can also be maximized by about 14 degrees Fahrenheit (8 degrees celsius) during winter.

To make this project possible, Sony has launched a crowdfunding platform called First Flight. It aims to promote new business concept to determine its profitability and it allows it backers to purchase directly and pre-order new devices such as Reon Pocket developed by Sony.

Loan Tagalog Words from Spanish

When I was a kid, first time I heard a person speaking in Spanish, I wondered why I understand some words. Then when I studied in the first grade, I learned that Spain colonized the Philippines 500 or so years ago that resulted to the adoption of Spanish words.

Vlogger Eric Martinez discusses one by one the 99 Tagalog words that have the same meaning in Spanish. As I watched his vlogs I found that he lived in Latin America for several years now, then learned the Spanish language by just listening to the native speakers speaking in public places. Now he can speak fluent Spanish and even do his vlogs in this Romance language.

Watch his video below and you'll be  amazed to hear some Tagalog words that you believe is originally Tagalog but surprisingly Spanish.
