Exchange Gifts

They say that Christmas is a time of sharing, so many Filipinos give presents to their loved ones, friends and colleagues. Gift-giving has been a tradition in the Philippines since the Spanish era. It evolved into different ways such as kris-kringle and exchange gifts. Our family usually conducts parlour games and exchange gifts before 12 midnight of January 1. The elderly people are in-charge to manage the exchange gifts and parlour games. Exchange gifts is the highlight of the event so in the day of December 31, we see to it that we have our gift ready for the midnight.

We are advised not to choose items that are present every year such as mugs, plates and girls’ accessories. Instead, we buy more precious things like Faberge eggs and kitchen utensils.
